Wood filament is a blended 3D printing filament made by mixing small wood particle into polylactic acid (PLA) plastic. It combines the benefits of PLA, a easy to 3D print bioplastic, with the aesthetic properties of real wood. The wood powder provides a realistic wood-like appearance and texture when 3D printed. Wood PLA filaments are ideal for applications where the look and feel of wood is desired, but regular PLA lacks the natural aesthetics. It can be used to 3D print decorative objects, furniture, architectural models, and more. The wood content also increases the filament's rigidity compared to standard PLA. Note that sometimes 3d printing with wood PLA tends to clog the nozzles! Especially high nozzle temperatures may carbonize wood particle.
